Authorized in July 2013, the Commission on the 

Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the 

Passage of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution 

was established to commemorate the events that occurred in Maryland 

connected to women's suffrage and 

the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex."
