Kacy Rohn is a Historic Preservation Planner with Montgomery Planning. She is a 2017 graduate of the University of Maryland dual master’s program in Community Planning & Historic Preservation. At the Maryland Historical Trust, Kacy researched the place-based history of the Maryland women’s suffrage movement and uncovered historic sites around the state where Maryland women fought for the right to vote. In her current role with Montgomery Planning, Kacy performs historic research and public outreach to preserve and promote the county's historic and cultural resources.
Maryland women fought for decades for the right to vote, but we have largely forgotten their activism. This anniversary gives us an opportunity to recognize their accomplishments while reflecting on a movement that left many women behind.
